The Southern Route (2 Days)

This is a journey built around the drive. Cross the dramatic Llogara Pass and descend from the mountains directly to the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. From there, follow the Albanian Riviera through Dhërmi, Himarë, Porto Palermo, Sarandë and Ksamil, stopping at the places that make this coastline exceptional. The route is driven by highly experienced local drivers who know the roads, the viewpoints and the coastline. Expect mountain passes, tight coastal roads, panoramic sea views and a driving experience that is as much a part of the tour as the destinations themselves. Along the way, we stop at selected viewpoints, villages, bays and historical sites rather than simply driving from one major attraction to another. The overnight stay is your choice: Sarandë or Gjirokastër, depending on the experience you prefer. The journey also gives you access to carefully selected local restaurants, including hidden places where tables can be difficult to secure and waiting times can be long. With us, these meals become part of the experience rather than a logistical problem. The second day continues inland to Gjirokastër, the UNESCO-listed Stone City, and through the ancient ruins of Butrint, before completing the journey through the south of Albania.
